Beethoven and Four Essential Insights for Artists

"I am really a bad negotiator and reckoner. I wish that things were different in the world. There ought to be a Storehouse of Art in the world, where the artist would only have to deliver his works of art in order to take what he needed. As it is, one has to be half a merchant as well, and how is one supposed to find one's self in it all?"

-Ludwig van Beethoven

Letter to Franz Anton Hoffmeister
 Vienna, 15 January, 1801

Ludwig van Beethoven was the first composer to become a successful freelance artist, rather than relying exclusively on patronage from the church or aristocracy. Becoming a successful working artist requires passion, drive, savvy and insight. Let Beethoven be your guide in an interactive workshop as we use examples from his life and music to identify values, cluster priorities, set goals and create the artist's life of your dreams. This creative workshop will benefit artists from all disciplines and at all career levels.
